This review is written by the makers of echocard, a competitor. Every fact has a source in the references, and the section on where Blinq is better is as honest as the one on where it is not.

What Blinq is

Blinq is a digital business card app from Blinq Technologies, an Australian company. The Google Play listing opens with: a digital business card app that has it all. You create a card in under two minutes, add up to twenty fields, and share it by QR code, link, text, email, a lock screen widget, a smart watch or an NFC card. Recipients do not need the app.

It is one of the most-installed cards in the category: over a million downloads on Google Play, 133K ratings on the App Store at 4.9, and a 4.8 TrustScore on Trustpilot from about a thousand reviews.

Sharing and where the card ends up

Sharing is Blinq's strength. The QR code can be downloaded and put on a website, a brochure or a sticker. The widget puts the card one swipe from the lock screen. The watch app shows it on your wrist. NFC cards are sold from $24.99, with metal at $49.99 and custom designs from $59.99.

What the recipient gets is a web page and, in Blinq's words, your details get saved straight to contacts. They can send their own details back, which is how Blinq builds the owner's contact list. The card itself does not stay anywhere on the recipient's phone.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Blinq's help centre describes adding your Blinq card to your Apple Wallet from the app: swipe to the card, tap Send, tap Add card to wallet, tap Add. Google Wallet is the same flow. Each card is added separately, there is no plan requirement, and the pass updates when you edit the card. It is the owner's pass, in the owner's Wallet, for sharing from. Neither page describes a recipient adding the owner's card to their own Wallet.

Follow-ups

Blinq's pages do not describe any message sent to the person who received your card. The follow-up features are for the owner: notes and tags on each contact, an AI notetaker and contact enrichment on Premium, and CRM integrations on Business. They are good at what they do, which is helping a salesperson remember and act on the people they met.

Plans and prices

As of 20 October 2026 the pricing page shows Free at $0 with two cards, unlimited sharing, Wallet, an email signature and virtual backgrounds. Premium is $9.99 a month billed monthly or $7.33 a month billed annually, with up to five cards, the scanner, AI notes, branded QR codes, custom colours and contact export. Business is $6.99 per user a month billed monthly or $4.99 billed annually, with a five-card minimum in the FAQ, plus templates, admin signatures, lead capture at $9.99 per lead, CRM integrations and analytics. Enterprise is custom.

The App Store separately lists Blinq Pro in-app purchases at $22.49 a month, $199 a year and $6.99 a week. The website does not describe a plan by that name.

What users say

The ratings are among the highest in the category and most recent reviews are five stars: people like how quickly the card is made, how many ways it can be shared, and that the free plan is enough for them.

The complaints in the fifty most recent App Store reviews and on Trustpilot cluster around support that does not respond, charges people say they did not expect, the five-seat minimum on Business, ads shown to recipients unless the owner subscribes, too many steps for the recipient, and setup that would not save or upload images.

Where Blinq is better than echocard

Two free cards instead of one. A scanner, AI notes and contact export. A widget and a watch app. Custom colours and branded QR codes on Premium. A proper team tier with templates, SSO and CRM sync. NFC cards you can order from the app. If you network for a living, these are the features you want, and echocard does not have them.

Where echocard is better than Blinq

The card goes into the customer's Wallet, not just your own. The back of the card carries a Google review button, a booking button, a call button and save contact, free. Pro follows up with everyone who saved the card, on their lock screen, and can send a one-off update to every phone. There is no app for you or the customer, and the card never shows anything but your brand.

Verdict

Blinq is a good product and the reviews bear that out. It is built for the person handing out the card, and if that is you at a conference, it is a fine pick. For a local business whose customers need to find the card again in six months, echocard puts the card where they will see it and does the following up for you.
