Published 20 October 2026 · Facts and quotes checked 20 October 2026

This review is written by the makers of echocard, a competitor. Every fact has a source in the references, and the section on where HiHello is better is as honest as the one on where it is not.

What HiHello is

HiHello is a digital business card app from HiHello, Inc. Its App Store listing calls it the digital business card app built to replace paper cards for good. You make a card with a photo, links, video and payment apps, share it by QR code, link, text, email, widget, social media or NFC, and the other person views it without the app and saves your details.

The product has three other legs: an AI business card scanner with human checking, email signatures that link to the card, and virtual backgrounds for video calls. Teams get templates, a company directory, SSO and CRM integrations. It is rated 4.9 from 45K ratings on the App Store and 4.8 from 16.4K on Google Play.

Sharing and where the card ends up

HiHello's sharing list is long: QR code, link, text, email, WhatsApp, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, widgets, NFC, social media, and the card works offline. No app is needed to receive or view a card. HiHello does not sell NFC hardware and says so plainly; it will write your card to any NFC tag you already own.

What the recipient keeps is a contact. HiHello's own description is that the person imports your details into the contacts list on their phone. One October 2026 reviewer says people who scanned the code could not find the details afterwards.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

HiHello's help centre describes adding your own card to your Apple Wallet from the app's card menu. Selecting the card in Wallet brings up your HiHello QR code so that new contacts can scan it and visit your card. For Android, a HiHello blog post says to download your card's QR code and add it to Google Wallet, which gives you a simple QR code card stored within your Google Wallet. Neither page describes a recipient adding your card to their own Wallet.

Follow-ups

HiHello's pages do not describe any message sent to the person who received your card. The owner gets a contact manager with notes, tags and a timeline, and Business gets lead capture forms. Those are useful for someone who meets people and wants to remember them; they do nothing for a customer who already has your number and needs a nudge to use it.

Plans and prices

As of 20 October 2026 the pricing page shows Personal at $0 with two cards, five scans a month, Wallet, an email signature and virtual backgrounds. Professional is $6 a month billed yearly, which is $72 a year, with eight cards, custom colours and fonts, branded QR codes, NFC programming, card analytics and twenty scans. Business is $5 per user a month billed yearly for five to 100 users, with templates, lead capture, Salesforce, HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics, a directory and SSO. Enterprise is custom.

The App Store lists Professional at $9 a month monthly or $84 a year, and a Professional plus Cards option at $14 a month, which differ from the website's $72. The pricing page's own comparison table also shows different card counts from its plan cards. We have quoted the plan cards.

What users say

Forty-five of the fifty most recent App Store reviews are five stars, with titles like Actually Free and great and Free tier is awesome. Google Play reviewers call it the best free digital business card they have found and praise the free email signature and background.

The complaints cluster around the free plan not showing who saved the card, paying for the rest of the access, the card formatting wrongly on non-Apple phones, contacts not finding the saved details, an advertisement shown to people who share their details, and a subscription change that existing customers say they were not told about.

Where HiHello is better than echocard

Two free cards, five free scans a month, a free email signature and virtual background. A scanner with human checking. A contact manager. Custom fonts and branded video on Professional. A team tier with templates, a directory, SSO and CRM sync. Writing the card to an NFC tag you own. A lower paid price for one person, at $72 a year. echocard has none of these.

Where echocard is better than HiHello

The card goes into the customer's Wallet, not just your own, and is drawn by Wallet on both platforms. The back carries a Google review button, a booking button, a call button and save contact, free. Pro follows up with everyone who saved the card on their lock screen and can send a one-off update to every phone. The customer never sees anything but your brand, and there is no app for either of you.

Verdict

HiHello is the free card we would point a networking professional to, and its reviews say the same. It is not built to stay on a customer's phone or to ask for the review. For a local trade or service business, echocard does those two things, and they are the two that bring the next job.
